Shopping for rings
A. Fine jewelry provides an investment that can be treasured generation after generation. As such, its purchase requires significant thought and consideration. The most important factors to consider when purchasing fine jewelry will include how it’s made, the quality of the materials used, the weight of the jewelry, the thickness of the metal, and whether the jewelry is plated or made of solid metal. The reputation of the jeweler, your overall budget, and style preferences are other factors that cannot be overlooked either.
A. As you shop for jewelry, you may read about the 4 C’s. The 4 C’s stand for Carat, Clarity, Color, and Cut. Carat measures the weight of the diamond. This is not to be confused with Karat, which measures the purity of gold. Clarity refers to how clear a diamond is. Clearer diamonds will demand higher prices. Color is self-explanatory. Diamonds will range from colorless to a noticeable color. COCOA diamonds (brown diamonds), for example, are becoming increasingly popular among consumers. Cut refers to how the diamond was cut. If a diamond has an excellent cut, it will have more sparkle and enhance the stone’s appearance.
A. This will depend on your individual style and preferences. Many people like platinum because of its density and weight, which is heavier than other metals. It is also an excellent metal for people with allergies to other metals. 14K and 18K gold is a good choice for rings you plan to wear more frequently.
A. If you don’t know your ring size, you can go to a local jeweler. Ring sizing is usually a free service offered among jewelers.
A. If you are buying a ring for a special occasion and want to keep it a surprise, we recommend reaching out to family members and friends who may be able to provide information on size and style. You can also take mental notes of what that person typically wears to get an idea of what they might like in regard to style. For ring size, you can try to take one of their rings to a jeweler who should be able to give you a good estimate of the proper sizing.
A. Maintenance is very important to ensure your jewelry continues to sparkle as much as the day you bought it. You should have your jewelry cleaned at least once a year by a professional jeweler. We may be able to provide you with cleaning services, so please contact us if you are in need of a cleaning. Additionally, we recommend that you avoid wearing jewelry when you may come in contact with chemicals, like chlorinated water, or at times when you are engaged in physical activity. We also encourage you to insure your ring in the event that it gets lost, stolen, or destroyed.

A. Our gemstones are heated to enhance their color. This time-honored technique has been used for centuries among the finest jewelers to achieve beautiful jewels without the use of chemicals or other damaging treatments. Applying heat to a gemstone may lighten, darken, alter, or intensify its color, turning a bland stone into a magnificent one. We never chemically treat any of our gemstones.
A. Yes, we take ethical sourcing very seriously and demand it for all of our diamonds, gemstones, and metals.
